Why small-group training

The game still has to be present

Group training should create repetition without removing teammates, opponents, pressure and decisions. That is where technical skill becomes usable football.

More ball involvement

Players need enough meaningful actions to improve, not long queues and one touch every few minutes.

Decisions under pressure

Passing, receiving and dribbling become useful when the player must scan, choose and execute against pressure.

Clear coaching feedback

Players should know what they are trying to improve and receive feedback they can actually use in the next action.

Group soccer training questions

How much is group soccer training at FC Gold Coast?

Weekly Development is $37 per week for one session (Monday or Wednesday). Accelerated Development is $59 per week for both days. Sessions run Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:45–4:45, from Monday 5 October 2026 at Greenheart Robina Parklands, Stadium Drive, Robina.

What happens in a junior group training session?

Sessions are designed around meaningful ball contact, technical detail, decisions under pressure and age-appropriate game situations rather than long lines or generic fitness work.

Is group training different from the FC Gold Coast academy?

Group training is one delivery format inside the wider FC Gold Coast player-development pathway. The academy page explains the broader football and futsal development model, while this page focuses specifically on weekly small-group training.

Should my child do one or two group sessions each week?

Start with the player's total weekly load. One purposeful session can be enough when a child already has club football, school sport and matches. Two sessions can suit players who recover well and need more structured development. Quality and recovery matter more than simply adding hours.

Can beginners join group soccer training?

Yes. Players should be placed into an age and stage appropriate environment. Confidence, experience and development need matter more than an elite label.
